FanGrade Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 27, 2026
Who we are: FanGrade Sports, LLC — contact: privacy@fangradesports.com ("FanGrade," "we," "us," or "our").

We built FanGrade to help you and other sports fans rate, review, and discuss sports. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. If you do not agree, please do not use FanGrade.

1) What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we process when you use:

  • Our websites, apps, and services (collectively, the "Service");
  • Our official APIs/SDKs; and
  • Our customer support channels.

This policy does not cover third-party websites, apps, or services that link to or integrate with FanGrade. Their privacy practices are their own.

2) Minimum age

FanGrade is for people 13+ years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

3) Information we collect
a) Information you provide
  • Account & profile: name/handle, email, password, profile photo, bio, location you choose to share.
  • Content: ratings, reviews, comments, lists, likes, messages, media you upload.
  • Purchases: subscription tier, transaction metadata (via our payment processors). We do not store full credit card numbers.
  • Support & feedback: content of messages and attachments you send to us.
b) Information we collect automatically
  • Usage & device data: pages/screens viewed, actions (e.g., post, like), app version, device type, OS, browser, language, time zone, referring/exit pages.
  • Log & diagnostic data: IP address, event timestamps, crash logs, performance data.
  • Cookies & similar tech: cookies, local storage, and mobile identifiers to keep you logged in, remember preferences, measure basic analytics, and secure the Service. See section 10.
c) Information from others
  • Sign-in partners (optional): if you choose to sign in with Apple/Google/etc., we receive identifiers needed to create or connect your account.
  • Payment processors: we receive limited payment metadata to record your subscription status.
  • Service providers: anti-fraud, security, and analytics providers may generate risk or aggregate metrics about Service use.

We do not buy data about you from data brokers.

4) How we use information (purposes)

We use information to:

  • Provide the Service (create/maintain accounts; enable posts, ratings, lists; personalize feeds within the app; remember preferences).
  • Secure and maintain the Service (fraud/spam prevention, abuse detection, debugging, uptime, and backups).
  • Communicate with you (transactional emails, service announcements, support replies).
  • Process payments for subscriptions and manage entitlements.
  • Analyze and improve (aggregate analytics to understand feature usage and improve performance and UX).
  • Comply with law (respond to valid legal requests; enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines; protect our users and our rights).

We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated processing.

5) Legal bases (EEA/UK only)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases include:

  • Contract necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide the Service you requested;
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to secure, improve, and support the Service (balanced against your rights);
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where required for optional cookies/trackers; and
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): to comply with law.
6) When we share information

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers/processors acting on our instructions (hosting, storage/CDN, analytics, email delivery, customer support, payments, security/anti-fraud).
  • Payment processors (e.g., Apple, Google) to process your purchases; we don't store full payment details.
  • Legal/safety recipients when we believe in good faith it's necessary to comply with law, protect you or others from harm, or defend our rights.
  • Corporate events (merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets) subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by US state privacy laws at launch. If that changes, we'll update this policy and provide required opt-outs.

7) Public vs. private content

FanGrade is social. Public content (like public profiles, ratings, and reviews) can be seen by others in the app and may be indexed in search. You can make your profile or individual posts private where the feature is available. Private messages are visible to participants and FanGrade personnel only as necessary for safety, support, legal compliance, or to enforce our Terms.

8) Your choices & controls
  • Access, correct, delete: in Settings you can view and edit profile fields, and request deletion of your account.
  • Export (portability): download a copy of your content (ratings/reviews/lists and profile data) from Settings.
  • Marketing emails: unsubscribe via any email footer or Settings (we'll still send transactional messages).
  • Cookies/Trackers: use our cookie controls (where available) or your browser settings. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for applicable jurisdictions.
  • Do Not Sell/Share: see section 14 (US State Privacy Notice).

You can also contact us (see section 17). We may ask to verify your identity.

10) Cookies and similar technologies

We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies (authentication, security, basic functionality);
  • Functional cookies (remember settings like language);
  • Analytics (first-party or privacy-centric tools to understand feature usage in aggregate).

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Any use of ads by us will require your prior consent where required, and we will provide opt-out controls.

11) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and in accordance with generally accepted industry standards, including encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices, and monitoring. No system is 100% secure. If we discover a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you and/or regulators as required by law.

12) International data transfers

We are US-based and may process information in the United States and other countries. Where applicable law (e.g., EU/UK) requires it, we use approved transfer mechanisms such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and conduct transfer risk assessments.

13) Third-party links and integrations

The Service may link to third-party sites or let you share content to them. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies, not ours.
